Non-histone chromosomal protein HMG-17 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HMGN2 gene. It is mapped to 1p36.11. The protein encoded by this gene binds nucleosomal DNA and is associated with transcriptionally active chromatin. Along with a similar protein, HMGN1, the encoded protein may help maintain an open chromatin configuration around transcribable genes. The protein has also been found to have antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Optimal dilution of the HMGN2 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Amino acids KKGKADAGKEGNNPAENGDAKTDQAQKAEGAGDAK were used as the immunogen for the HMGN2 antibody.
After reconstitution, the HMGN2 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
