This monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD8 beta molecule. The CD8 beta chain associates with the CD8 alpha chain to form the CD8 alpha/beta heterodimer expressed on the surface of a majority of thymocytes, and on peripheral cytotoxic alpha beta TCR T cells. This monoclonal antibody identifies cytotoxic/suppressor T-cells that interact with MHC class I bearing targets. CD8 is thought to play a role in the process of T-cell mediated killing.

Optimal dilution of the CD8b antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Five day mixed leukocyte culture population, C57BL/6 anti-BALB/c

Store the CD8b antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
