The protein encoded by this gene, a member of the Gprotein-coupled receptor family 1, is an integral plasma membraneprotein which binds melanin-concentrating hormone. The encodedprotein can inhibit cAMP accumulation and stimulate intracellularcalcium flux, and is probably involved in the neuronal regulationof food consumption. Although structurally similar to somatostatinreceptors, this protein does not seem to bind somatostatin.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the MCH Receptor 1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 396-422 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the MCH Receptor 1 antibody.
Aliquot the MCH Receptor 1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
