This gene uses alternative splicing to generate twodifferent proteins- high molecular weight kininogen (HMWK) and lowmolecular weight kininogen (LMWK). HMWK is essential for bloodcoagulation and assembly of the kallikrein-kinin system. Also, bradykinin, a peptide causing numerous physiological effects, isreleased from HMWK. In contrast to HMWK, LMWK is not involved inblood coagulation. Three transcript variants encoding differentisoforms have been found for this gene.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the KNG1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 138-166 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the KNG1 antibody.
Aliquot the KNG1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
