The protein encoded by this gene acts as a guaninenucleotide exchange factor for the RHO family of small GTP-bindingproteins (RACs). It has been shown to bind to and activate RAC1 byexchanging bound GDP for free GTP. The encoded protein, which isfound mainly in the cytoplasm, is activated byphosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate and the beta-gammasubunits of heterotrimeric G proteins.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the PREX1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 1134-1163 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the PREX1 antibody.
Aliquot the PREX1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
