The PAICS gene encodes a bifunctional enzyme containingphosphoribosylaminoimidazole carboxylase activity in its N-terminalregion and phosphoribosylaminoimidazole succinocarboxamidesynthetase in its C-terminal region. It catalyzes steps 6 and 7 ofpurine biosynthesis. The gene is closely linked and divergentlytranscribed with a locus that encodes an enzyme in the samepathway, and transcription of the two genes is coordinatelyregulated. The human genome contains several pseudogenes of thisgene. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms havebeen found for this gene.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the ADE2 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 95-123 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the ADE2 antibody.
Aliquot the ADE2 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
