This gene encodes class II alcohol dehydrogenase 4 pisubunit, which is a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family.Members of this enzyme family metabolize a wide variety ofsubstrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. Class II alcoholdehydrogenase is a homodimer composed of 2 pi subunits. It exhibitsa high activity for oxidation of long-chain aliphatic alcohols andaromatic alcohols and is less sensitive to pyrazole. This gene islocalized to chromosome 4 in the cluster of alcohol dehydrogenasegenes.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the Alcohol dehydrogenase 4 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 319-348 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the Alcohol dehydrogenase 4 antibody.
Aliquot the Alcohol dehydrogenase 4 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
