Description
ACOX1 is the first enzyme of the fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway, which catalyzes the desaturation of acyl-CoAs to 2-trans-enoyl-CoAs. It donateselectrons directly to molecular oxygen, thereby producing hydrogen peroxide. Defects in this gene result in pseudoneonatal adrenoleukodystrophy, a disease that is characterized by accumulation of very long chain fatty acids.
Application Notes
Titration of the ACOX1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Immunogen
A portion of amino acids 7-37 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this ACOX1 antibody.
Storage
Aliquot the ACOX1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
