The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembraneglycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growthfactor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds toepidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand inducesreceptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads tocell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lungcancer.
Titration of the anti-EGFR antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 1004-1033 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this anti-EGFR antibody.
Aliquot the anti-EGFR antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
