This gene, a member of the cadherin superfamily, encodesone of the receptor tyrosine kinases, which are cell-surfacemolecules that transduce signals for cell growth anddifferentiation. This gene plays a crucial role in neural crestdevelopment, and it can undergo oncogenic activation in vivo and invitro by cytogenetic rearrangement. Mutations in this gene areassociated with the disorders multiple endocrine neoplasia, typeIIA, multiple endocrine neoplasia, type IIB, Hirschsprung disease,and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Two transcript variants encodingdifferent isoforms have been found for this gene. Additionaltranscript variants have been described but their biologicalvalidity has not been confirmed.

Titration of the c-RET antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

This c-RET antibody was raised using purified His-tagged recombinant human c-RET.

Aliquot the c-RET antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
