This gene encodes a protein that binds to the C-terminusof adenovirus E1A proteins. This phosphoprotein is atranscriptional repressor and may play a role during cellularproliferation. This protein and the product of a second closelyrelated gene, CTBP2, can dimerize. Both proteins can also interactwith a polycomb group protein complex which participates inregulation of gene expression during development. Alternativesplicing of transcripts from this gene results in multipletranscript variants.
Titration of the CTBP1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 413-440 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this CTBP1 antibody.
Aliquot the CTBP1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
