Receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) play a key role in thecommunication of cells with their microenvironment. These moleculesare involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, andmetabolism. In several cases the biochemical mechanism by whichRTKs transduce signals across the membrane has been shown to beligand induced receptor oligomerization and subsequentintracellular phosphorylation. This autophosphorylation leads tophosphorylation of cytosolic targets as well as association withother molecules, which are involved in pleiotropic effects ofsignal transduction. RTKs have a tripartite structure withextracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic regions. This geneencodes a member of a novel subclass of RTKs and contains adistinct extracellular region encompassing a factor VIII-likedomain. Alternative splicing in the 5" UTR results in multipletranscript variants encoding the same protein. [provided byRefSeq].
Titration of the DDR2 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 290-320 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this DDR2 antibody.
Aliquot the DDR2 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
