This gene encodes a member of the homeodomain-containingsuperfamily of transcription factors. The protein binds to DNA aseither a homodimer, or a heterodimer with the related proteinhepatocyte nuclear factor 1-alpha. The gene has been shown tofunction in nephron development, and regulates development of theembryonic pancreas. Mutations in this gene result in renal cystsand diabetes syndrome and noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and expression of this gene is altered in some types of cancer.Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have beenfound for this gene.
Titration of the HNF1B antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 498-529 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this HNF1B antibody.
Aliquot the HNF1B antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
