The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversionof L-lactate and NAD to pyruvate and NADH in the final step ofanaerobic glycolysis. The protein is found predominantly in muscletissue and belongs to the lactate dehydrogenase family. Mutationsin this gene have been linked to exertional myoglobinuria. Multipletranscript variants encoding different isoforms have been found forthis gene. The human genome contains several non-transcribedpseudogenes of this gene.
Titration of the LDHA antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 204-232 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this LDHA antibody.
Aliquot the LDHA antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
