This gene encodes a member of the p21-activated kinase(PAK) family. The proteins of this family are Rac/Cdc42-associatedSte20-like Ser/Thr protein kinases, characterized by a highlyconserved amino-terminal Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB)domain and a carboxyl-terminal kinase domain. PAK kinases areimplicated in the regulation of a number of cellular processes, including cytoskeleton rearrangement, apoptosis and the MAP kinasesignaling pathway. The protein encoded by this gene was found tointeract with androgen receptor (AR), which is a steroidhormone-dependent transcription factor that is important for malesexual differentiation and development. This gene was found to behighly expressed in testis and prostate tissues and the encodedprotein was shown to cotranslocate into the nucleus with AR inresponse to androgen. Alternatively spliced transcript variantsencoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [providedby RefSeq].
Titration of the PAK6 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 268-297 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this PAK6 antibody.
Aliquot the PAK6 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
