This gene encodes a member of the family of non-receptortype Tyr protein kinases. This protein is widely expressed inhematopoietic cells and is involved in coupling activatedimmunoreceptors to downstream signaling events that mediate diversecellular responses, including proliferation, differentiation, andphagocytosis. It is thought to be a modulator of epithelial cellgrowth and a potential tumour suppressor in human breastcarcinomas. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encodingdifferent isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided byRefSeq].
Titration of the SYK antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 268-305 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this SYK antibody.
Aliquot the SYK antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
