This gene encodes a member of the TNF receptor associatedfactor (TRAF) family. TRAF proteins are associated with, andmediate signal transduction from members of the TNF receptorsuperfamily. The encoded protein has been shown to interact withneurotrophin receptor, p75 (NTR/NTSR1), and negatively regulate NTRinduced cell death and NF-kappa B activation. This protein has beenfound to bind to p47phox, a cytosolic regulatory factor included ina multi-protein complex known as NAD(P)H oxidase. This proteinthus, is thought to be involved in the oxidative activation ofMAPK8/JNK. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have beenobserved but the full-length nature of only one has beendetermined.
Titration of the TRAF4 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 427-455 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this TRAF4 antibody.
Aliquot the TRAF4 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
