Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) is a memberof the Ena-VASP protein family. Ena-VASP family members contain anEHV1 N-terminal domain that binds proteins containing E/DFPPPPXD/Emotifs and targets Ena-VASP proteins to focal adhesions. In themid-region of the protein, family members have a proline-richdomain that binds SH3 and WW domain-containing proteins. TheirC-terminal EVH2 domain mediates tetramerization and binds both Gand F actin. VASP is associated with filamentous actin formationand likely plays a widespread role in cell adhesion and motility.VASP may also be involved in the intracellular signaling pathwaysthat regulate integrin-extracellular matrix interactions. VASP isregulated by the cyclic nucleotide-dependent kinases PKA and PKG.
Titration of the VASP antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 267-296 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this VASP antibody.
Aliquot the VASP antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
