The WNT gene family consists of structurally related geneswhich encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have beenimplicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning duringembryogenesis. This gene is a member of the WNT gene family. Itencodes a protein which shows 95%, 86% and 71% amino acid identityto the mouse, zebrafish and Xenopus Wnt8B proteins, respectively. The expression patterns of the human and mouse genes appearidentical and are restricted to the developing brain. Thechromosomal location of this gene to 10q24 suggests it as acandidate gene for partial epilepsy.
Titration of the WNT8B antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 323-351 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this WNT8B antibody.
Aliquot the WNT8B antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
